How to do phone forwarding when the phone service is down.

All the forwarding instructions we found assume a working comcast phone line.  Due to weather conditions, Comcast services (phone, internet, ...) are down in our area.  We need to forward all call to out comcast numbers to our cell phones.  How can this be done?  I try to call the support number, but it refused to connect us to an agent.  We tried different things but the system always ended up saying something like, "Your service will be restored on May 25 around 5PM..." then hanged up.

Hello quetek and welcome,

Sorry for you not being able to contact anyone at 800-391-3000 because that is always open with coverage. Next time you can connect into and speak to an digital voice technical agent, please have them have your Call Forward Not Reachable (CFNR)  set to your cell phone. This feature will always work when you have any issues, like outages, and it will automatically redirect you incoming calls to the cell phone or whatever telephone number you use. When the outage is brought to full restoration, this feature will automatically dis-engage and all calls with be processed directly into your primary or other TNs.

Now this is only a CFNR function and your hunt group or other normal functions will only resume when full restoration is provided.

Hope this helps you out.

I found that feature on the support page, but obviously could not set it up at the time because the phone service was not working.  The service has been restored.  We will have CFNR setup in preparation for future outages.
