Regulatory Cost Recovery overview (Answered)
Introduction
The Regulatory Cost Recovery (RCR) appears on monthly billing statements for Business Voice, Video, and Ethernet customers. The RCR is neither government mandated nor a tax, but is assessed by Comcast to recover certain federal, state, and local regulatory costs. It includes contributions Comcast makes to state and federal funds that support communications services for individuals in high-cost areas, individuals in low-income areas, and disabled individuals.
What is it?
The RCR includes the Federal Cost Recovery Fee, which covers Comcast’s contribution to support the operation of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and certain FCC programs. The other components of the RCR can be seen in the applicable price list.
For information about other taxes and fees on your Comcast bill, refer to Common taxes and fees on your bill.
