Formal Demand for Investigation and Restoration of Fax Service Fax Number [Edited]

For more than two months Hart & Hart Attorneys, Ltd. has been attempting to obtain restoration of inbound fax service associated with fax number [Edited: "Personal Information"].

The record demonstrates that incoming fax service ceased no later than July 16, 2026. Despite numerous calls, support requests, escalations, and emails, no party has provided a definitive explanation identifying:

  1. When the number was allegedly ported.
  2. Who requested the port.
  3. What documentation supports such alleged porting.
  4. Which carrier currently controls inbound fax routing.
  5. What corrective actions have been taken.

Instead, Comcast has repeatedly directed the customer to eComFax while eComFax has repeatedly directed the customer to Comcast and Bandwidth.

Several facts are undisputed:

  • The fax number had functioned for years.
  • Incoming fax service stopped.
  • The number continued appearing within the eComFax portal.
  • The eComFax portal reported the number as active and "OK."
  • Outbound fax capability remained available.
  • Neither Comcast nor eComFax restored inbound service.
  • Multiple tickets were opened and subsequently closed without resolution.

As a law office, Hart & Hart receives time-sensitive legal documents, court filings, fiduciary communications, and client records. Failure of a fax line used for legal communications exposes the firm to substantial operational risk. Timely receipt of documents is not optional.

Accordingly, we demand a written explanation identifying:

  • The current carrier of record.
  • All porting transactions affecting [Edited: "Personal Information"] since July 1, 2026.
  • The date and time of any port event.
  • The identity of the requesting carrier.
  • Copies of all porting documentation.
  • A detailed remediation plan.
  • The name and contact information of a single escalation manager with authority to coordinate among Comcast, CloudWWS, eComFax, Comunycarse, and Bandwidth.

The repeated assertion that "the number is not with our carrier" is not a resolution. It is merely a statement that should have triggered a coordinated investigation. After months of effort, the customer still lacks a factual explanation and functional inbound fax service.

We request immediate executive-level review and a comprehensive written response.

Hello user_9db2e8! I appreciate you coming to our business community for help, and we'd love nothing more than to help with your fax line in any way we can. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), the business name on the account, the phone number for the account, and the full the service address, we can get started on reviewing this further.

To send a direct message:
  • Ensure you are first signed in, then you will see a chat box icon at the top right of your page.
  • From there, click the 'New Message' icon. In the 'To' field, type ‘Comcast Business’.
  • Type your message in the text area that appears at the bottom of the window and hit enter to send. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond.
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Messaging" icon in the top right corner
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Comcast Business" there
• - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Comcast Business" from that list
• - An "Comcast Business" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it

[Edited: "Personal Information"], Hart & Hart Attorneys, Ltd, - account number [Edited: "Personal Information"]. Look it up - there will be a plethora of tickets on the problem.  Your 'suggestions' suggest you punched a button to put in stock information. I have not been able to receive a fax for two months.

Ecomfax is absolutely useless so don't even think of asking them to do anything intelligent. This needs to be escalated to a higher level to get fixed. Please call my office number associated with the account. If I sound frustrated and mad, it is because I am. I am disappointed that Comcast has been unable to resolve this have my fax number - that I've had for 25 years (including the time before it was ported to Comcast) - returned.

I am a lawyer and that number is with courts, other lawyers, and clients all over the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is now creating serious problems that I cannot receive facsimile transmissions. [Edited: "All Caps"]
