Need to password protect files on server.

Do I need to create my own .htaccess file or does Comcast already have one. I have several folders I need to password protect for my viewing purposes only. How do I do this?

Re: Need to password protect files on server.

Hello heylady,

Thank you for the post, however Comcast webhosting services do not have the option for hypertext access for individual folders.

For access, modification and security a customer’s primary account user ID within the Business Class portal is the only authority to the webhosting site.  Sorry for the inconvenience, and please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank You
