SMCD3G-CCR Bridge Mode

I need to get my modem set up in bridged mode to work as a simple cable modem as I have a Double-NAT situation. I would rather have my router handle NAT. Can I get that done through here?

Re: SMCD3G-CCR Bridge Mode

Hi Khadgar. We can have the gateway placed in true bridge mode.  Please note that this action does require the gateway to reset and there is down time associated with this change.  Also Bridged Devices are not capable of utilizing fixed static IP address on the Comcast Network.  Please let us know when you would like to make this change.

Thank You

Re: SMCD3G-CCR Bridge Mode

I don't have a static IP. I suppose if I choose to in the future I could get bridge mode turned off, correct? How long is the downtime? If it's intermittent that's fine and you can proceed with placing it into bridge mode.

Re: SMCD3G-CCR Bridge Mode

HI Khadgar.  Bridge mode can be removed at any time. The down time is approximately 5 minutes.  Also all connected devices does require a restart. I will have our Tier 2 Agent proceed with the change.

Thank You
