For about a week I have had Comcast cable service, much faster than my DSL service was.
I have one computer plugged into the #1 network port, works fine, the front panel light blinks green with activity. The computer plugged into port #2 works fine, but the light blinks orange with activity. Why the difference?

I downloaded a pdf version of the owner's manual for this series of modems by googling for it. It explains that green indicates gigabit ethernet, amber is 10/100 speed. Maybe the computer with the amber connection light has an older ethernet card?
I'm in the forum because i just got this modem today, it has the latest firmware v1.33.03, but I'm getting occasional intermittent dropouts or discontinuities in connectivity, and so I'm looking for info.

I asked Netgear tech support for assistance with getting a user's manual. They were completely useless. And I notice that no one at Comcast offered an answer. A sign of things to come, I guess.
