Hi.
Can anyone shed some light on the meaning of these messages in the Event Log of the Comcast Cisco gateway?
[Dhcpc][2559]: erouter0 T1 Expired, Enter Renew State | 2014/12/2 04:20:08 | Notice |
[Dhcpc][861]: wan0 T1 Expired, Enter Renew State | 2014/12/1 23:50:39 | Notice |
Thanks.

It means absolutely nothing. The way DHCP works is the requestor (cisco modem in this case) asks the DHCP server (at comcast) for an IP address. The server hands the IP address back to the requestor with a time limit. When the time limti expires the requestor asks for a renewal on the Ip address. And under normal situations it will get a renewal. The cisco is just logging the renewal requests. Completely normal.
No one at Comcast technical support can tell me the meaning of the messages. Does anyone know?
