Bridge mode or replacement modem
We have a SMC D3g modem which was provided with our internet service. Since swithcing to Comcast I am having difficulty getting any of our VPN connections to work. We use a Netgear FVS318 behind the SMC which provides the VPN Server.
Connections are created but they can not see anything on the network. I assume it is due to the configuration.
Can the SMC put itno a real bridge mode so that the Netgear router will have the actual IP wan address? If not, are there modem options available to swicth which are usable with the comacast service.
Finally, can the cusadmin password be rest on the modem? It appears that the default nor the one I swicthed it to a while back are working.
Re: Bridge mode or replacement modem
With the modem put into bridge mode, I am still having issues using the VPN.
Both sides (at the router and on the VPN Client show that the Tunnel is connected) but no resources are available to the client. Pinging anything on the router comes up with no reply.
We have both IP and VOIP on our service and use dynammic IP's althought they do not seem to change.
If anybody has any suggestions, I am all ears.
