Very poor download bandwidth this evening

For the past several hours I have been experiencing very poor download speed.  Noticed on general web browsing and file downloads and then backed up by testign with speedtest.net.

 

Rather than the contracted 50MBPS down I am seeing a peak of about 1.5Mpbs and as low as 150kBPS.  This is atrocious performance.

 

I have treid rebooting the cable router to no avail.

You wouldn't happen to be in California would you? Second night in a row my speed has dipped out of no where and support has no idea why.

Make sure you get the same slow speeds with a computer plugged directly into the cable gateway, and if it's still slow, post a screenshot of the downstream/upstream signal levels from http://10.1.10.1 status pages

normal full speed however there has been no change in the physical connection to the cable router which was already directly to one of its four ethernet ports,
