Is it possible that Comcast Businesss provides no way for customers to check the status of Comcast Internet services for business online? If I have an outage, why can't I use my mobile device to check the status of the Comcast service in my area? Frustrating, especially during off hours.

You are able to login to your Business Class Portal (BCP) from any device and if there are service outages they will always be reported as shown within this link. Another means by which you can check on Comcast outages from any device is to use this following link. Lastly, there is this generic downdetector website that can also be used.

The first link you posted is not accurate - there is no icon like the one shown on the Account Home page.
Comcast put a new design in on their backend which changed what he linked. For business as soon as you login you should see three or four boxes at the bottom of the page, look for the green checkmark in the right hand corner of those boxes for your service status.
