Loss of internet every week'ish. Logs show "expired", getting new IP, and data harvesting

We are on standard 300/30 Comcast Business Internet with Comcast's Cisco? Modem.

 

Modem has wifi turned off, and we have removed all of the add-on services (recently) to simplify (things like phone, wifi extenders, etc.)

 

I run the house wifi off of an asus router. I have verified that it is signal loss from the Comcast Router by directly logging into the router itself. Shows 3 solid lights on the front, but at times I can't even log into the router. Feels slow/overwhelmed in this state.

 

I saw this this-morning at exactly the time it went down. Any ideas what might be going on? Phone support is driving me bonkers. No, I don't want to reset my modem Smiley Happy

An un-plug and re-plug solves the issue after the device restarts.

The data harvesting sounds scarier than it is, which is basically a reporting tool for the modem so the part that I'd like to work on is the (semi-?) regularity of the slow connectivity and inability to log into the router. When does this happen usually? Most firmware updates would go out in the very early morning hours, as a general rule. And if you don't reset the modem, does it normalize or is that necessary to do every time?

I've let it sit for 15min or so to see if it self heals and it hasn't. I also attempted to log into the modem yesterday and it was too slow to respond so I couldn't log in. An unplug wait5min (not sure if required) re-plug works reliably.

 

Is there any hint regarding what appears to be an IP address expiring and it attempting to grab a new one?
