Fluctuating Speeds

I have  been having issues with my business class internet over the last couple of weeks.  I was on the Deluxe 50 tier which would give me download speeds of 50mpbs.  However, my speeds have been fluctuating between 30 and 55 mpbs randomly.  I just recently moved to the next tier of 75mpbs and now I am getting speeds that fluctuate between 40 and 87 mpbs.  Its only been going on for a couple of weeks and it seems to be happening at random times throughout the day.  I was not sure if Comcast throttles business class or not.  I really do not think they do, but thought I would ask.  Any thoughts?  Whats interesting to note is if I use the speedtest on comcast's website, my speeds run aroung 30mpbs but then runs much higher if I use a different speed test.

Comcast definitely does not throttle period, business class or residential. What kind of modem do you have, and if you're using a separate router what kind of router? As well, have you been doing the speed tests over Wi-Fi, or connected via Ethernet cable?

The modem is a SMCNetworks SMC DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem.  I use an ethernet cable.

I think there was something bigger going on.  Something happened last week where the entire area lost internet capability for about 48 hours.  After the fix, the speeds have gone back to normal and I have not had any more issues.
