Is Comcast planning on doubling the Internet speeds of Business Internet customers like they did for Consumer users? I don't understand why the speed increases are only available for consumer Internet customers. My next door neighbor is now testing out at105 Mbps from their consumer Internet modem (actual speeds will vary).
Hello SteveBush and welcome,
Last year Comcast Business (CB) made some lower price/ higher performance competitive adjustments in all the Internet speed tiers that are currently available. I am not aware of any current plans to follow consumer sequel of doubling CB performance. Comcast is always improving all their services capability to meet all customer needs.
In conclusion, please view this 2011 Comcast article about Comcast CEO demonstrating 1Gbps and I believe there is a more recent article related to Comcast demonstrating 3Gbps cable broadband speed. So, I would not rule out any continued price / performance competitive adjustments into the future.
Hope this helps you out.
TO add to Rich's comment, ZDNet has an article with a Comcast executive claiming that the company will begin offering 1 gigabit service to select customers starting this year.
