Comcast Internet drops intermittently

My internet connection intermittently drops or studers. After some research i found that the Comcast modem I had was based on the PUMA 6 chipset that causes issues with lag and jitter. So I replaced it with a netgear CM1000 and i am still having similar issues with my internet. Internet drops and cuts out for several minutes and magicaly comes back on. I called Comcast service desk and they reboot the modem but it continues to do the same thing.
