About two weeks ago our useable block of ip addresses stopped being reachable. We were using a L3 switch to split our /30 ptp and the /28 useable block and had several resources directly connected. All internet traffic suddenly stopped and we scrambled to get internet back for our users. we tried an identical switch with an identical config and nothing. So we bypassed the switch and connected our router/firewall directly to comcast edi with the /30 ptp address. Now, I have put one of the useable ips on another interface of our firewall and still can not ping it. I have also tried setting up a static nat so that the public useable ip would nat to a server on our lan. Still no love. Anyone else experience a loss of their useable block recently? Did comcast blow out their static routes? Frustrating.
