We currently have the voiceEdge system, works great with an exception. We have 3 buildings, and when we page (it goes via the phones) people in the back of the warehouse, and outside, can't hear those.
Is there a way to integrate some sort of PA system with VoiceEdge?
Thanks!
Average Guy,
It is possible to connect an Overhead type paging system into the VoiceEdge solution. You would need to purchase a VoiceEdge "seat" to accomodate the paging system. That seat could be a Standard seat that only has an extension number. When you order the seat, tell them it is for a Paging system, and we will deploy an ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor), instead of a Polycom Phone. Then, whomever provides the Paging sytem, would connect the Overhead Paging system to the VoiceEdge ATA. Then you can just dial the assigned Extension Number, and you will be connected to the Overhead System. Some people will set up the Paging System Extension number as a speed dial on their phone. I hop[e this helps.
Your gonig to need a loug ringer Algo 8180 SIP Audio Alerter The loud ringer will need to be registered to the SIP end point. Set up the phone for paging as follows.
Multicast Addr: 224.0.1.116
Port: 5001
Call wait disable.
Compatibilty disabled.
Then follow the Algo polycom play book link is.

Worked great for me I ran the audio out from the 8180 to my present Amp that distributs it to all the sepakers in my shop. It rings on all the phones and speakers & pages on all the phones and speakers.
The algo 8180 will not need the SIP Reg & password for paging it uses multicast. But will for ringing.
You will need Web access to the 8180 set up screen.
Comcast passwords protects it but the nice Comcast rep gave me the PW to access the 8180 set up screen.
Sorry this is the correct pdf link to set up the 8180 loud ringer for multicast paging.
