Forwarding voicemails

Are there any shortcuts or settings that can be changed to speed up the process of forwarding a voicemail?  Currently, it takes 16 different steps from start to finish for each voicemail.  And you have to wait for instructions in between many of these which makes each voicemail transfer take way too long.  Our office deals in bulk phone voicemails that often get forwarded to the correct person, so this new system is quite cumbersome.

 

Here is our current process:  Message button, password, press pound, choose option 1, choose option 1 again, choose option 6, choose option 9 to hear additional options, choose option 2, record your intro, press pound, choose option 3, type in the extension, press pound.  Press star, press star again to go back to the previous menu, choose option 7 to erase voicemail.  Then press another option to take you back to the list of other voicemails that need forwarded.  Our old system had three or four steps that staff were able to memorize without having to listen to instructions in between.  But I don't think anyone is going to memorize all of these....

Thank you for reaching out about the voicemail forwarding issue. What phone system do you have now? You mentioned that it had changed recently.

We have the Business Voice Edge system with Polycom 311 phones.
