I no longer need a dedicated fax line so I ported the number out to another fax provider for the rare fax I get. The number still shows as active in Comcast and I'm still being charged. It's been about 3 weeks. Does anyone have experience with having the number removed from a Comcast account after being ported out by another provider? I am told the Comcast records showed it as "pending" for the port for a week or 2 then recently went to "active."
Interesting, not sure what happened but looks like this issue is solved as I now see a credit for charges on my account. The phone line no longer shows when I log into my account.
