MFA for Account Login

Does anyone know if MFA to an authenticator app is on the roadmap? With the use of eSIMs it makes it easy for attackers to hijack your SIM and receive your MFA text, intern giving the attacker access to all services that use SMS as a form of MFA. Using an App like Google Authenticator removes the attack service therefore keeping cell service safe. Right now they want the last 4 of the credit card used which any data miner can find that information on the dark web.

Hello and welcome, @user_fec733! Thanks for taking the time to visit our Comcast Business Support Community, and for posting this question about our MFA practices. We currently offer Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using our own app.

Current Situation:

- We primarily use the Xfinity app for MFA.
- This app offers various verification methods like push notifications, biometric authentication, and traditional codes.

Third-Party Authenticator Apps:

- We do not currently support MFA with other third-party authenticator apps like Google Authenticator or Authy.

Roadmap:

- There is no official announcement or confirmation regarding the inclusion of third-party authenticator apps on our roadmap.

Check Our Official Channels:
- Keep an eye on our website, social media pages, and support forums for any announcements or updates regarding MFA options.

I hope this information is helpful! And again, thanks for inquiring. Our Digital Care Team is awesome to work with because we'll remain here to support you and your business in any way we can.

At one point the Home Xfinity accounts could use the Xfinity Authenticator app but it is no longer in use. It seems like security is going the wrong way.

@user_fec733 - We appreciate the feedback! We now use the Xfinity App for residential accounts, and the Comcast Business App for business accounts. As a customer myself, the first keeps my account secure, and I've never had any security concerns. Like I mentioned earlier, feel free to keep an eye on our official media pages in case anything is released in the future regarding the use of a third-party authenticator app like you've mentioned. I'm sure that we'll let everyone know as soon as we do, if/when any such changes are made.
