VPN: Virtual Private Network

A virtual private network (VPN) extends a company’s private network across a public network, such as the Internet, thus allowing employees to securely access their company's intranet while traveling outside the office.  From a user perspective, the extended network resources are accessed in the same way as resources available within the private network of the company.

Comcast IP gateways are not configured as VPN endpoints and should only be set to function as a pass through device to a directly connected customer-owned VPN termination device.  

Comcast Business does not provide technical support for VPN endpoints due to their highly technical nature.
