VOIP through Business Gateway Laggy/Stuttering (Netgear CG3000DCR+Ooma )
I am currently using the comcast business 50/10 internet only plan and tried using a 3rd party VOIP. Just found out that my Netgear CG3000DCR gateway does not allow me to disable "SIP ALG". Is there any way to fix this problem using the current equipment on hand through only changing gateway configurations/settings or am I stuck with having to change equipment?
I have searched forums and found the following work arounds but they don't seem to be a complete fix based on other customer's feedback:
- Change gateway to bridge mode: but I think that this will not allow Static IP address I bought from comcast. Can someone confirm this?
- Change gateway to SMC: No confirmation in searches showing this works. How do I get the ball rolling for this if I must change equipment?
Appreciate if anyone can help me resolve this issue as I would like to get VOIP working ASAP. Thanks.

So the comcast technician that replaced our smc modem with netgear and knew that we were using vonage business and still replaced the modem with a modem that actually cripples our service..... amazing.
I will be calling them and asking for a replacement.
