Reset Gateway password

2 weeks ago there was an issues with DNS with Comcast I was down for 3 days when service was restored it worked fine for about a day.

I intermittently cannot resolve DNS I can get to sites only by IP my modem is in bridge mode and have been locked out.

I need to have the password reset so the question is can this be done by Comcast support remotely or do I have to default the modem?

Hi FDM.  Comcast Technicians cal always access the gateways remotely for configuration changes.    As your gateway currently has a static assignment with LAN DHCP disabled (

The gateway username/password has been set to the defaults.
