Netgear Bridge mode Switch
Hi,
Had our Netgear modem/gateway placed in bridge mode. Do I need to restart my attached firewall device? The Netgear modem/gateway did restart. Forgot to ask tech support, dont want to go back on hold.
Thanks.

HI awrych. Restarting your router will refresh the IP table. Your router should be set to.

According to Comcast all you do is turn off DHCP and DNS. This is supposed to put it into their pseudo bridge mode. The Netgear does not do true bridge mode. Call support back, you will get a different tech. Everyone I talked to knew how to put the gateway into bridge mode. I just think that the Netgear can not do what I need.
Even after they put my modem /gateway into "bridge" mode, my problem has not been resolved.
I am beginning to think that I need a modem only to solve my problem.
