Am I allowed to move the cable line on the exterior of my building?

Hello,

Just curious what I am and am not allowed to do with the cable line on the exterior of my building. Coming from the pole, the coax first goes to the peak of my roof, then under the soffit to the right, splits, and then one side of the split goes into the building there, and the other side doubles back on itself to the left of the peak, and down into the building on that side.

We're undergoing renovations, and I want to eliminate the split completely so that the cable just goes to the peak and then to the left and down. I tried calling support, and a ticket was created but immediately closed, and nothing's been done. I don't want to hold up our contractors' progress, so I'd like to know if I can do this myself asap.

I figure using the forums might get me an answer from someone who knows.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @user_23fc8d, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. I completely understand wanting to keep your renovation project moving smoothly, especially after the added frustration of opening a ticket and seeing no progress afterward. When it comes to the cable line on the exterior of your building, I’d recommend holding off on making any changes yourself. The coax line and any splits are considered part of the service infrastructure, and adjusting or removing them without a technician could potentially impact your service or even violate service guidelines.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, business name, and the service address associated with your account, we'd be more than happy to look into this for you.
