Technicolor CGA4131COM slowing down

I have this intermittent problem where CGA4131COM will respond to requests very slowly. This is always fixed by rebooting the modem but I was wondering if there is a better way...

Here is an example what happens. Normal ping response (from a VA server) is around 20ms.

Just about all of the times I've seen that problem on multiple other modems it is due to invalid signal levels at the modem.  Either they are too high in which case you need an attenuator or they are too low in which case Comcast has to fix the cable head or the cabling itself.  You need to open a trouble ticket with Comcast and have a tech come out and put a meter on the cable.
