Trying to set-up static IP

I am trying to setup my modem with the static ip info that comcast customer service gave me. When I login to the gateway and try to set up the Static IP I am told: " (Destination IP & Subnet Mask) != Destination IP. Invalid Gateway IP Address. Gateway IP isn't in LAN IP address subnet!"

Help, what am I doing wrong and how do I correct it?

Thank you,

Brian

Welcome Brian.  The routeable static IP should be configured onto your router or directly connected PC.  The gateway IP scope is configured by Comcast during the install.

Thak you

I am having the same issue. I'm usign my Gateway as assigned by the technician when he installed. I have all of this setup but I think yesterday when the modem was resest because the password "highspeed" wasn't working, it wiped out all of the settings, including my routing table. Now, when I try to add my static ips back to the routing table, I get the message posted above. Help?

Welcome cstraface.  We can reload the configuration file to the gateway.  Please send me a private message with the account number and I will have the Support Center reload the file.

Thank You
