Static IP DNS resolution issue

I've opened multiple tickets with support on this and they all seem to magically get closed with no resolution.  Whenever I call back in to find out what's going on, they can't figure it out and open a new ticket and it gets closed again.

Here's the issue.  I have a /29.  The reverse DNS resolution for my addresses resolve to xx-xx-xx-xx-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net.

However, that hostname does not have a DNS record.  Here's an example:

$ host 50.242.1.1
1.1.242.50.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer 50-242-1-1-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net.

$ host 50-242-1-1-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net.
Host 50-242-1-1-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

I expect the forward resolution for xx-xx-xx-xx-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net to actually resolve.  Is this too much to ask for?

I upgraded from 16/3 to 50/10 and during the process they lost my original /29 and had to assign me a new one.  My original /29 came from this ip address neighborhood:

$ host 173.8.117.1
1.117.8.173.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer 173-8-117-1-Minnesota.hfc.comcastbusiness.net.

$ host 173-8-117-1-Minnesota.hfc.comcastbusiness.net
173-8-117-1-Minnesota.hfc.comcastbusiness.net has address 173.8.117.1

Note how that works fine.

What can I get to get my current block to actually properly resolve?  I know the simple option is to request that I get cidr delegation set up or simply have the reverse resolve of my IP addresses to hostnames in my own domain (that properly forward resolve) but I would simply prefer the generic comcastbusiness.net reverse resolution.

Hello dopey,

Welcome to the forum.

To your query, we can set the RDNS for you with our network team.

This will be better option as it reduce the possibility of domain being flagged by filters.

Please send me the following information to setup the RDNS

1. Your Full Name

2. Account Number

3. Static IP with DNS entry

(EX: xx.xx.xx.191 -->  remote.mydomain.com)

Thank you

Oh, I should note that those aren't my actual IP addresses.  I just picked them out to demonstrate the issue.
