Static IP and Bridge Mode

I would like to use one of the assigned Static IP Addresses when the modem is in Bridge Mode, Kindly confirm which of the options would accomplish this (Bridge in Basic vs Advanced Mode)

The desired configuration is as follows: -

  • Modem - with the gateway IP
  • a Firewall with one of the Static Asigned
  • Corporate Network behind  the firewall
  • Ability to do port forwarding in this configuration

Thank you

Hi gscsupport; welcome to the forums and great question about the Static and using Bridge Mode! With the Static IP, true Bridge Mode won't work but you can use the pseudo or Pass-Through Mode. This article has some really good information: https://business.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/using-a-static-ip/ and if you search these forums for 'True Bridge Mode’ vs. 'Pass-Through Mode' and look for the post from Comcast John, that will give you an overview on the differences, how tos, etc. If you need further assistance, you can click on my handle (Comcast_Gina) and send a private message with your name, the business name, the complete service address (including city, state, ZIP, suite number, etc), and the phone or account number.
