Need a little help-Bridged SMC into Asus RT-AC68U

Hi all

I have an SMC that is set to bridge and 5 static IPs

Right now the asus is assigned one static and there are no issues.  Speed is fine, connection is strong when setting DHCP for my clients.  For one of my clients I am trying to use one of my remaining four IP addresses.  When I set it up, I cannot get out... I think I am settting everything correctly..but not sure.  Here is what I am doing on the Macbook pro client..

Static 173.xxx.yy.yyy (Free Static IP address assigned from comcast)
Gateway 173.xxx.yy.xxx (Static IP address of the SMC gateway)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.248

I have also tried to use the Asus's static ip as the gateways information to no avail.
DNS i am using what Comcast assigned and have even tried using Googles DNS...

I am stuck,,,using dhcp from asus, everything works great...use a static assigned from comcast and it wont work when going through the Asus router...

Any ideas

Thanks

So I have been reading since last night and everything keeps pointing to lack of support for Static IP and bridge mode on the SMC?

Is that true?

If so, what do I need to do to have one of my clients utilize one of my Static IP's?  I don't want to have it plugged directly into the SMC for security reasons......kinda lost
