Company owned email server and Comcast SMTP service
Hello all.
I'm a long time Comcast Busiess class subscriber with a fixed IP, who has not been using any of the many Comcast services that I've been paying for.....stupidly.
I know I have one free domain to use, which looks like it includes registration and dns management. I will move my domain here post haste.
I've been running and maintaining my own email server for almost eight years now and I would like to keep on doing so. I run a Zimbra eMail server on a ubuntu linux box which takes almost no management at all....almost completely runs it self. I do reboot this machine once every other year.....
My question..finally...can I use my email server in conjunction with Comcast's SMTP service/server ?? ....or do I need to continue to route my email through a 3rd party SMTP service ?? ,which is what I currently do. Note, I do not send any SPAM type of email at all....just company email for up to 5 separate accounts.
TY in advance for any help with this question.

hmm.....
More than 24 hours have gone by with no response.
After doing some research I've found that if I want better business support.....Comcast will be more than happy to provide at an additional cost.
No thanks.
Time to do some experimenting and see what works and what does not work.

Hello demanl,
Welcome to the forum.
To your query of using Comcast's SMTP servers for your domain, Comcast do not allow 3rd party domain to use them.
Additionally if an attempt is made to use the servers, there is a possibility your domain maybe black listed.
This is considered a relay and to clear it, it is time consuming and costly, so please do not use servers not setup for your domain.
Thank you
