Comcast domain to my static IP?
I registered a domain name with Comcast Business internet, but it goes to a Comcast server. I want the domain name to go to my server at the static IP I got from Comcast Business. How do I do this?

Hello gibsonf,
Welcome to the forum.
If you prefer to use your own webhosting server, you have to update your "A" record dns entry to your IP address.
To make the change please use the following steps:
1. Log into your Myaccount.
2. Click "websites" under manage service menu
3. In the websites menu click the "edit website" menu (this will open the website control panel)
4. In the control panel's mange service menu click "domain name"
5. In the domain name menu click the "edit" next to your domain that ends in .comcastbiz.net.
6. Update the A record to your ip address.
Thank you

Well, my domain name without the www prefix works fine now to my server, but if I use www. prefix it goes back to the comcast hosted server. What else do I need to do? There is a setting for a and www, but it has a totally different dot address than the other 'a' address had before my edit.

Hello gibsonf,
For the www entry, you can update it with a cname entry that points to your domain name.
This should correct www entry issue.
