recurring bill includes installation fee AND standard charge can't seem to get it fixed

Hi there

just opened this account this week and it seemed to be going well. The contractors who put my business starter internet in were excellent and the speed is what I am paying for BUT I just checked my first bill and the recurring charge is for $168.95 and the one time charge section is zero. SO I am pretty sure that this is the $99 install fee ( I only signed up for 24 months) and the $69.95 ACTUAL recurring charge.  I am ok with cancelling the account on Monday morning as another carrier has come through with an excellent counter offer and with month to month, BUT the comcast thing is in and I can spend a few days working on it ( I understand I can cancel anytime up to 30 days).

I tried getting this fixed using chat and the nice lady said she could not work with business accounts I would have to CALL yes CALL!!! 1 800 391 3000 and work with them. Apparently there is chat for residential and NOT for business. I asked for business support email and again we have to CALL!!!.  I will NEVER call so if I can't solve this by tuesday 1/13/15 by 9am cst it's off to the other vendor who DOES have business chat and email support and pretty much the same pricing ( a bit more but worth it).

I know others have seen this issue but there seemed to be no resolution.  If anyone can tell me how to sort this ridiculous situation out ONLINE I would be most grateful

Hi majorkong.  Our Business SErvice Center researched our current bill and informed us that the recurring charge of 69.95 contracted charge for services.

Also the statement list Other Charges & Credits as 99.00 for Commercial Install W/2yr Contract.  This a non recurring charge and while included in the current bill total will not appear on subsequent statements.  Please let us know if you need additional assistance with your Comcast Business Service.

Thank You

Hi John

I have replied to my own post just to give closure to this. Although I am not really a fan of the need to trust comcast rather than have physical proof ( a CORRECT BILL!) I suppose someone has to make the first move and I'll do that. I will continue to use the service looking to the bill after the installation charge is dealt with to be $69.95 for service only. I thank you for your time and effort.

Hi there John

thank you so much for looking into this BUT, there is always a but isn't there 🙂  the continuing issue is this. I can cancel this within 30 days without penalty BUT I will only find out if this has been truely corrected  if I take it as read that you are correct and this has been fixed and wait BEYOND the 30 days only to find out that the mistake is still present and now being contractully obligated to pay penalties when I cancel.

There is no evidence to support that at all, the charge still seems to be in the recurring column and the one time charge column is $0 so, although I am sure you are a good man, the contractual evidence ( the bill) seems to be in favor of it NOT being fixed AND there seems to be a lot of forum chatter about poor billing practices.

I am still tending towards cancelling tomorrow as it is bewildering to me how this kind of thing happens.

thanks again for looking into this, great service. It is not your fault you are being let down by a silly system.
