Long-time business customer, Brookline MA - need senior/technical help with a phone number issue
Long-time business customer, Brookline MA - need senior/technical help with a phone number issue that's been affecting my account for months.
My business's published phone number (which I've had since 2011) has been forwarding to our current number this entire time - a setup Comcast itself put in place when I moved locations, since the original number couldn't be directly transferred. That forwarding has worked fine for years. The problem is the original number isn't showing anywhere on my account, only the forwarding number is.
I believe this is why my rate negotiations keep getting rejected without explanation - it's happened twice now, most recently with a new contract I signed on August 3rd after a lengthy call where a rep confirmed with engineering that the original number would be set as primary going forward. That fix was never implemented, I was told I'd hear back within days if there was an issue, and I never did. My follow-up emails went unanswered.
I called again this week, waited 15 minutes to get through, and a technical support rep confirmed the new contract had been rejected with no reason given, and told me to contact "Fulfillment." She also confirmed the original number still isn't reflected on the account.
I run a business and don't have a lot of time to keep starting over with new reps. I'd really appreciate a senior or technical support person reaching out directly who can actually investigate why the original number isn't on the account and get it corrected - I cannot lose that number. I'd also still like to get a lower rate once this is sorted, since I suspect it's the root cause of the rejections.
Need someone from technical or engineering to take this seriously and contact me.

For landline numbers, transfers are often subject to geographic and rate center requirements. A rate center is similar to a service area for telephone numbers, and numbers generally must remain within an eligible service area to be transferred. If the transfer could not be completed, the number would not appear on the new account. Was the previous account kept active that whole time? Have you used the contact methods here to follow up since Aug 3rd?
I also wanted to ask if you could you share a little more about what you mean when you say the negotiations are being rejected? Are you receiving a specific error message, code, or notification? We're happy to help with basic troubleshooting and see if we can identify what's happening.
If your concern involves account negotiations, contract discussions, or business account pricing, you'll want to work directly with the Comcast Business Support Team. You can contact them here: Comcast Business Support.
In the meantime, let us know what error you're seeing, and we'll do our best to help point you in the right direction.
