ETF for service I can't even use
When I signed up for Comcast Business for my girlfriends small business, no one said anything about a 3 year contract. Not the multiple salesman and not the installer. If I knew that, I would not have got the service in the first place, knowing that a small business may not last over 3 years. I just assumed it was like the residential internet I have got in the past and could cancel at anytime.
Well we transfered offices and were planning on transfering the internet. The guy came out to survey the area and a week later I got an email telling me it would cost $53,000 to hook up internet in our new location and Comcast could not afford that. Well thats cool, I understand. But then when I want to cancel the internet, I call up the Comcast Business number, and the guy tells me I have a 3 year contract and there would be an early termination fee for disconecting, a $950 fee. First time I heard of the contract in over 6 months of having service. Once again, would not have even got the service if I knew there was a contract. There's other company's out there.
So he gave me the option of transfering services, (doesn't work when there's no internet in the other areas), or passing it on to someone else (Who wants to take that over?).
I will say everyone on the phone has been real nice and I know they are just doing they're jobs. But there's no way I am paying for internet that I can't even use at the moment. If I could transfer it to the new location, this wouldn't be an issue but since I can't even get service, why should I have to pay? If they can't tell you when you sign up, in person or over the phone, that you are in a contract, then they shouldn't be able to sell you a hidden service in the first place. This is America we live in!
Well if anyone can help me out with my problem, that would be fantastic, because there is no way a smalll business like mine and the many others out there with problems just like this, afford to pay this bill and get swindled into this hidden contract.
Thanks
