I also received a $2 "upgrade" to my equipment fee. My equipment hasn't changed, so I don't think the fee I get charged for it should change. Further, I have a contract that specifies the fee as $14.95. Comcast should honor the contract language for the duration of the contract. If I'm required to honor the terms of the contract, so should Comcast. Isn't that the purpose of a contract?
In addition, Comcast seems to have larded on a "directory listing fee." I did not consent to pay for a directory listing anywhere in my contract and there's apparently no way to opt out of it. Comcast business users should seek a class-action lawsuit on this. I personally don't care who maintains directory listings, Comcast. If you took that on, that's on you. Don't ask me to pay for it.
When this contract is up, I'm gone. (And I've had Comcast business services for a decade.). Comcast, think twice before you start larding on fees for services that people didn't ask for, and equipment that's gathering dust in the corner.

Thank you for reaching out to us about your Comcast Business account and charges. The equipment rental fee covers not just the equipment but costs associated with maintaining and providing support for the equipment. If your device has an issue requiring support we provide support or if the device breaks we replace the device. It is possible to avoid the charge and purchase your own device, if you did not purchase static IP addresses, to avoid the rental charge. You may find the list of compatible devices online using this link: https://business.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/comcast-business-cable-modem-device-compatibility. I'm also happy to review the charges on your billing as well, as some fees and taxes are not locked by the rates in effect at the time you begin your service. Please send a private message so we can review specific charges on your bill.
