Compliant

I am filing a complaint regarding Comcast Business and the handling of my account transition from Comcast Business to residential service.

My Comcast Business contract does not expire until September 2026. During a storm outage, I contacted Comcast Business for technical support. During that interaction, I was offered the option to switch from Comcast Business to residential service.

Before agreeing to the switch, I clearly stated that I did not want to proceed if I would be charged any early termination fees. I was assured multiple times by Comcast representatives that, because I was remaining with the same company and simply changing from business to residential service, I would not be charged an early termination fee.

Based on those representations, I agreed to the change.

Afterward, I was sent termination documents to sign and was informed that I might still be subject to a 30-day notice period, which would result in approximately $160 in charges for business service that I am no longer using. I was also initially told that an early termination fee could apply, though a later representative stated in writing that the fee would be waived and that I would not be charged.

While Comcast has now indicated that no early termination fee will be charged, they have not clearly confirmed whether the 30-day notice period will be waived, backdated to the date of the service switch, or fully credited. As a result, I may still be billed for service I do not use.

I am requesting that Comcast:

1. Honor the representations made by its representatives.

2. Confirm that no early termination fee will be charged.

3. Close the business account effective the date residential service began.

4. Waive or fully credit any charges associated with the 30-day notice period.

5. Confirm in writing that no additional charges related to this transition will be applied.

I relied on Comcast’s statements when agreeing to the switch, and I believe it is unfair to charge me for unused service based on incomplete or misleading information.
