Comcast -- Screwing over small businesses one business at a time.

Comcast is in the business of having cold calling scammers pose as "Business reps" to bait and switch customers into signing two year agreements.    And they are completely o.k. with their reps lying and witholding information to do that.

My story:  I signed up for basic internet for my small business last year.  Three months into the contract from someone named Brian Sumner who claimed to be my "business rep".   He offered me faster speeds and TV for an extra 5 bucks a month.   When I asked whether this would change my contract I was told "not at all sir, we just need you to resign the agreement that you'll be paying 5 bucks more.    Well guess what?   He lied.   I found that out 7 months later when my business had to move and I tried to disconnect the service:

When you signed the secondary agreement you signed an additional 2 year agreement for services. Upon completion of the Voluntary Disconnect Request form your business account will be scheduled for termination according to the terms and conditions of the contract with a 60 day notice to bill stop on 3/28/14 with an Early Termination Fee of 75% of the remainder due in the term totaling $1804.39 as of the stop date.

Long and short -- Over 2k in fees to disconnect basic internet and cable.    Outrageous... by ANY standard even if I was aware of what I was getting into.   The fact that I was lied to and not even served with clear terms in a contract (they only send a link, which did not even work)  makes this disgusting.

No amount of complaining to retention,  FCC, BBB,  etc. have meant a thing to Comcast Business.    They even refuse to turn off the service unless I pay them 2k.    So even though I haven't been in the building since April 1st, my service remains on.    INCREDIBLE.

Reading the posts it seems like this is THE issue with Comcast Business.

Another post about "Read what you're signing".

Sorry Samuel, that's not what it's about AT ALL.    I did read what I was signing -- and nowhere on what I signed is there anything about terms.  This is about Comcast hiding the terms deep within in a link on the bottom page of what I was signing and instructing it's sales reps to withhold information and outright lie when questioned specifically about terms and termination fees.  Capish?

I love how Comcast isn't responding to this.   Classy.

You were cold called into signing something right? Not sure where your responsibility ended in this.
