billing complaints - being charged for lines I don't have
I have my account on autopay so I don't have to worry about looking at bills and I just noticed a recent bill that came in while I was on hold with a customer and saw that I was being charged for 5 phone lines and the representative said that I likely have been for a while. I have been at our current address as a Comcast customer with only 4 lines for over a decade. The Comcast representative I spoke with today said that she could only go back 3 months and apply the $39.95 credit even though I could have been incurring this bogus charge for a very long time. She said that an internal audit noted that I had 5 lines which is a bunch of bologna. She came back on the line to say that she couldn't provide me the credit but that it would have to go to some team and gave me a ticket number of CR8720076.
I would like to know when I began getting charged for 5 lines and why. I would like a credit for the entire time that I have been paying for something that I haven't received. I see by searching online that many Comcast representatives have told customers that it is there responsibility to check their bills and report any overcharging however a) many of us sign up for autopay to minimize the distractions we have in our busy lives and thus don't check their bills because they are being paid automatically and b) it is Comcast's obligation and the obligation of other utility providers to ensure that they are not overcharging their customers for services that they are not obtaining.
Please let me know how this will be resolved.
Thank you,

Oh no! Let's get down to this right away. Thanks so much for your time and patience. May I ask, who is the primary contact on the business account? -Rob K.

Thanks so much. I'm going to reach out to our billing professionals, to work towards getting the extra line removed. What would be a good contact email and phone number? -Rob K
