Speed and Latency Issues Spokane Washington

I have had 2 techs out in 2 days. Im about to lose it!

Yesterday they fixed a bad barrel connection, today the gateway was replaced, but the thing is, after about 2 - 3 hours of being back online my speeds and latency are back in bad shape.

I have checked my router, and checked my cables, everything is fine, even running straight from the gateway I'm seeing the latency and speed issues.

Im starting to wonder if by some chance there is something in the area causing an issue.

Can anyone see if there has been any other reports in my area, the East side of Spokane, and if there is in fact a problem out here.

Is this an issue you're seeing to everything or just a select few servers?

Head over to http://10.1.10.1/login.asp and post your signal levels from the "cable modem" while the issue is happening. This can help us determine if you're having a signal issue.

As soon as I notice it happening again, I will post levels.

Your Pingplotter data shows some increased latency where I wouldn't expect it, but overall it looks ok. Your signal looks good to me also , so it's odd that you're seeing issues. The two times that the techs came out, were they able to see the issue in action? If not, they likely just used best guesses/logic to find a problem and fix it. If you can, have them observe the issue while it's happening. This will yield much better results.

Just out of curiosity, if you call up Comcast and have the rep reset the modem or if you even reset it, does it return it to normal?

Resets only temporaraly fix it. And just for the sake of seeing I replaced my router yesterday, still showing speed flux across speedtest done from  all systems on the router.

It seems as if I am on a over saturated node or something.

It's really starting to annoy me .... Sometimes I get my full speed, and other I'm lucky to hit mid-range DSL speeds.

Wondering if Comcast_John might be able to see something from his side in my area.

You can sure PM him and ask.

As for your issue. The next time it happens don't reset the modem. Call up and let them know what's happening and ask that they escalate it. If it's approved you'll get a tech dispatched ASAP. It's important that the tech can see what's going on as he'll be able to provide better assistance.

You may also want to ask the tech for the supervisor number or request that he call you.
