Should I use auto MDI-X for our router?
We have just got a new ethernet private line and I wonder if we shoud use auto MDI-X between Comcast's terminal device (Ciena 3916) and our router (HP MSR3044).
In some cases, auto media selection seems to cause unstable link or burst errors.
Therefore, using static 1000base TX Full seems to be better.
Does Comcast recommend anything about it?

Hi Chirico. Crossover (X) cable is not required, you can connect directly in the UNI port on the Ciena. While the "Ciena is hard coded to either 100/FD or Gig/FD depending on the service level, the configuration can be adjusted to customer specifications." The Business Service Center @1-800-391-3000 can assist with configuration changes.
Thank You
