Service drop burial cut neighbors buried cables
Amazingly, only 3 days after new service was installed, the service drop was buried.
However, JULIE [the folks that mark buried cables] didn't survey the area, and the tech cut neighbors cables.
Now, Comcast suggests that those that were affected call and ask for service repair. And if they're not Comcast subscribers? Well, they would need to pay out of pocket for the service reconnection.
Something here doesn't seem quite right.
So I ask of the support community, has something similar happened to you, and what was your resolution.
TIA

What cables did they cut specifically? If they cut their cables which are serviced by AT&T, your neighbors should call AT&T and ask for a repair. You could also push Comcast, but I doubt you'd have much luck.
You can also try reaching out to https://twitter.com/ComcastMike and letting him know the situation. He could get someone from escalations to call you.

The only action I recieved from Comcast was through Twitter. Specifically, @ComcastMike was the only person that was able to get things moving. I'm surprised that the normal phone tech wouldn't have the same information or be able to get me routed to someone.
I am still waiting to see Comcast show up and even approach the area to look at the issues.

You'll find that anything which is outside of generic realm of support is near impossible to troubleshoot with the phone techs. Something like this, they'd have no idea on what to do. You'd likely have better luck getting a tech sent out and telling him the situation directly. He could then talk to his supervisor and gets things moving.

So we are now two full weeks later. No one from Comcast is responding to any lines of communication. There have been no visits or calls to the affected neighbor. No one has come to my location to inquire as what the issue is or if I can point out the area where the cut may have happened.
The bill is getting paid though, so at least Comcast is getting what they want.
