REQ: Info on obtaining faster than 150MBit business package.
Hello
I live in Sandwich, IL and Comcast just buried cable in our small 'business park' located at the airport in town here. The fastest package they offer is 150Mbit at this time. The subdivision (residential) at the airport has GB capability and they are on a separate 'line' so to speak than our business line they buried just two months ago. All goto the in town NOC of course.
Both the guys that buried the cable and the techs that came out said I would absolutely have no issues with obtaining GB service with the existing cable they have in place.
My question is; can anyone from Comcast give me a ballpark tiem frame in which higher speed/throuput packages will be available? I just get Internet...no phone or TV.
Why does the residential service here have the faster packages available (300/500Mbit, etc) and for the business side of things its capped at 150Mbit?
The capacity is there. That I know for a fact. You would think they would offer smaller businesses like my own faster packages shy of getting into the dedicated Enterprise service tier (ethernet, private lines, etc.).
Tnx

Hello n944la,
At this time the only way to get GB Internet speeds for a business account would be to go with enterprise services. There is no release date at this time to offer GB speeds for SMB (small & medium) business subscribers. If this changes we will let the community know.
