Paying for business 50/10, but never get any better than 31/7: Is this normal?
I'd like to understand from others, or CC people whether this is normal. I would expect, in particular middle of the night, to get close to advertised speeds.
If this is not normal, will a service call get it sorted out? While I would be at it, can I get my modem replaced so I can get proper DHCP6-PD delegation (the SMC does not do it right, and after 2 onths working with them CC still has not sorted it).
Since somebody is bound to ask:
SMC D3G gateway in bridge mode -> Ubiquiti EdgeMax PoE (which will route at 1Gb speeds) Gb link -> Gb link wired to Gb switch -> wired to computer used for test. All links verified to be full duplex at 1000.
Signals:
Downstream Channel
Downstream Frequency | 560.997803 MHz | 579.001587 MHz | 590.999512 MHz | 603.002075 MHz |
Lock Status | Locked | Locked | Locked | Locked |
Modulation | 256 QAM | 256 QAM | 256 QAM | 256 QAM |
Symbol Rate | 5.360537Msym/sec | 5.360537Msym/sec | 5.360537Msym/sec | 5.360537Msym/sec |
Downstream Power | 4.889384 dBmV | 4.615729 dBmV | 5.026411 dBmV | 5.157887 dBmV |
SNR | 36.844463 dB | 37.092701 dB | 37.355988 dB | 37.092701 dB |
It would seem that the above should support 4 * 5.3Msym = 4 * 5.3 * 8 Mbps: about 170Mb/s. I understand I will be throttled because I do not fork over enough dollars at $130+/mo, but if the bandwidth is there, I'd expect to get what I pay for.
Upstream Channel
Upstream Frequency | 18899671 Hz | 23699571 Hz | 36499415 Hz |

Upstream Power | 40.2500 dBmV | 40.7500 dBmV | 41.0000 dBmV |
Channel ID | 5 | 6 | 8 |
Upload avail: 3 * 2.5Msym * 6: About 45Mbps, also plenty to provide 10Mbps as promised

Hello dolfs,Glad to hear your getting the correct download speed, I reached out to our regional support team to make sure you had the correct signals and bootfile loaded to your modem. A remote provisioning refresh has seemed to have fix the issue. Please let us know if any issues come up.
Thank you

Actually did that last night before that test, and have done it several times before. No difference in outcome.
But then I realized that may be you had done something to my setup and ran it again this morning. Now I got 56 down, still 7 up.
I see upstream I now have 4 channels instead of 3.
What did you do?
