Not getting 50Mbps download speed

Hi, The speed test indicated the download speed is at around 35Mbps, while my plan should reach 50Mbps. I checked the cable modem status page. There are 8 channels running QAM256, symbol rate for each channel is a little above 5M symbols/sec, SNR is at 44-47db, the power level is close to zero dbmv.

Does this sound good, or the symbol rate / SNR is too low to reach 50Mbps? If I calculated it correctly, it should be 8bits/symbol(QAM256) * 5M symbol/sec * 8(channel) = 320Mbps theoretically?

Please help have a check,

Thanks,

speed test from what?  INside Comcast's network or out?  When was it run?  Is the modem running translation or not?

Speed test from http://speedtest.comcast.net and http://www.speedtest.net/ for several times on different days, at different time (from 3pm to 3am). The results were consistent - maxed at 35 Mbps.  I'm wondering if there's throttling on the comcast side.
