New to comcast phone service, wondering how long it takes to fix a dead phone line

Hello,

 

We just signed up with Comcast last May and I'm surprised that 3 days after reporting a dead phone line, my problem has not been solved.  

 

Actually, my phone has been dead for at least a couple of weeks, but I thought it was an intermitent issue that would get fixed by Comcast.  I guess Comcast does not have the facility for discovering phones that do not have service.  So . I finally reported it last Thursday evening and was told my phone would be 'fixed by a tier 2 person' that night. 

 

The following day Friday, I called my phone and my call went straight to voice mail. 

 

On Saturday when I got home, I picked up the phone and the line was still dead. I called Comcast and was told it would take about 48 hours to fix a phone line, and I would just have to wait.  I talked to the supervisor and he said  this was not true.  However, no one in Tier 2 has looked at my issue and my case would have wait its turn. I have no idea now long the 'queue' is, or what is comcast policy for managing their queues.

 

Today Sunday, phone is still dead, incoming calls still go straight to voice mail.  The support number 800 391-3000 g now respondes with an answering machine.  Went through the menu and said I wanted to talk to an 'agent'. However, the 'transfer to agent' step disconnected my call.    Is there no tech support on Sunday?

 

I really need for this phone to be operational because this is the only one I use to call overseas, and it is in our business cards.

 

Could someone please help?
