netgear cg3000 issues
Comcast is admitting they are seeing issues with this modem..I have my service connected to a Juniper firewall and it goes down 3 or 4 times a day.I have found if I disable and reenable the interface on my SRX to the Netgear it will recover and stay up for a few hours. But unpredictable.Lucky we have another circuit for backup.
They also told my site they didn't have another modem but Netgear was onsite at Comcast and they hope to have a fix soon.
Upset we have had this service for 2 months and this is the 4th dispatch..Hopefully Comcast will fix the problem quick!

we finally dumped dsl and had 2 100mbps cable lines brought to our building - everything was great for about 3 weeks then our sonicwall firewall was not seeing any traffic coming from the modems. they were the netgear cg3000's. I could hook up directly to the modems with a laptop and it was fine but as soon as i connected to the firewall it would time out, not packets being sent to the firewall at all. i had them replace 1 of the netgear with a n older SMCD modem, it's been working great for about 3 weeks. i read a couple things on google were those netgears don't handle ARP very well.
im really starting to think its bad netgear modems

Yeah, we had a circuit installed in Atlanta and mentioned to our tech about not wanting the netgear..He laughed and asked " how do you know about that issue" 🙂 My problem is I call tech support and they agree it needs to be replaced and open a case..Then the local tech calls my site and tells them he doesn't have another modem and to live with it for a while..That was 3 weeks ago..I am hearing centurylink is in the building and might be forced to dump comcast and get a full credit back if they can't fix this NOW..Just replace my modem seems like a simple request 🙂
