Internet Up and Down
The last couple of weeks we have had intermittent internet drops. Just mid day the internet will go down from 10-15 seconds to several hours. Resetting modem as mixed results, sometimes it fixes instantly other times like today had no effect for over 15 minutes. Particularly troubling is we run our credit card machines on a broadband only connection and our inventory control system is web based which means when the internet is down we only have limited Point of Sale access (some basics operate offline) and no credit card processing.
We are in south central Indiana, is there a known issue being worked on or is this just an isolated issue? We have called customer service a couple of times and a service tech was supposed to come by and check on us (they may have, but no one ever checked in with me at the store to say they were here) a week or so ago. Still we are having issues. I tried calling Businesss Class support today and was in the hold queue for over 10 minutes during which time the internet came back on itself so I gave up trying to reach customer service.
Thoughts?

At the risk of spamming my own thread, just updating that we have gone down 2x in the last hour but neither time lasted more than 30-45 seconds.

Head over to http://192.168.100.1 or http://10.0.0.1 and post the signal levesl from the modem. If you can try to capture it while the internet is working and while it is down.
You may also wish to start running some test during these issues. I'd recommend PingPlotter and using a known good address like GoogleDNS.

Finally got through to customer service today after it went down for 15minutes again. Modem is timing out and packet loss occuring while they were checking it. Guess another tech is coming out in the morning. Hopefully this fixes things. I won't hold my breathe yet though, when I was having similar issues with residential services I had several tech visits 3 new modems, and all new cable run throughout and under my house with no fix in a years worth of problems. Hopefully this works though.
