Emailing security log from SonicWall TZ215 unable to resolve smtp server
At the request of Comast Security I added a SonicWall TZ215 to my home office. I had professional help with finishing the installation from firewalls.com. Despite trying to add each of the recommended mail server DNS settings (which work fine on my outlook) at https://businessclass.comcast.net/en/Secure/ManageServices/ViewDNSSetting.aspx and even following the SonicWall OS user guide to instead try entering the IP addresses these resolve to, I am unable to send out the log file via email. The Sonic wall keeps having an error "Problem sending log email; check log settings". So I started a trouble ticket with Dell and they so far can't figure it out either.
Anyone get this to work? I have used with an without authentication, with POP before SMTP authentication, and in advanced added or deleted the password to go via port 25.
