Constant packet loss

I have had techs come out and completely rewire me from the modem to the outside box. When they left, the internet was near perfect. However over the last few days I have been experiencing constant packet loss. Some of it is so bad that any video I am watching will buffer and uploads are nearly impossible.

I have had this issue in my state for over 6 years now. Every time they fix it, it comes right back like a stray animal you feed.

Does anyone actualy ever monitor their customers or just watch the billing department only?

I have had techs out over 100 times in the last few years to look at this same issue. How long will it take to get rid of the problem for longer than a couple weeks?

I have had 3 modems since I moved across town.

It comes and goes but happens more than 2/3 of every day.

I will check this post in the morning. Shutting down the home office tonight. 🙂

Your upstream power level is a bit too high. The limit is 50 so anything beyond that or even at the edge of it is likely to cause you problems. That would explain the uploading issues and could explain the packet loss if it's starting at the modem.

Have you had your modem swapped out by any of these techs? Also does your issue come and go or is it consistently like this?

Can an actual admin or someone in support PM me here so I can PM you back with a traceroute the next time this happens. I would love to show you where the problem is. Thanks
