Connectivity Issues when sending/receiving
Hello, can anyone please help me?
I have a constant issue when using Outlook with my comcast business email. It constantly gets hung up while sending/receiving and it is a real problem. Oftentimes after I send an email it does a send/receive and it hangs up and freezes so I have to force close Outlook, and re-open it. Most of the time the email I just took the time to type never got sent, and it doesn't show up in my outbox, so I need to start all over agian. This happens probably 10 times a day. If I have a long email I simply type in in word and paste it in my email, so if it gets lost I don't have to retype it all out again. I use my email constantly and this is clearly super annoying.
This happens just with my concastbiz email and It just sits there trying to send/receive it. I don't have a clue what to do, and I tried calling Comcast, but they were no help. The guy that helped me completely disregarded my issue and told me it was probably an outlook problem... since you give me outlook for free, I would assume you would have some troubleshooting techniques or something, but all I got was a, "sorry can't help you" response.
Does anyone have any idea why it would work sometimes, but ususally after Outlook has been open for a few minutes it gets stuck when sending/receiving and I have to shut Outlook down because it freezes? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi IcareINS. Packet filtering is a default setting on the gateway, it has been disabled in the gateway. Packet filtering (Smart Packet Detection) is an additional firewall setting, you can access the firewall settings by logging into the gateway via input of the LAN IP into any browser and using the username and your password.

Welcome IcareINS. We have verified that you email accounts are active and there are no issues with the Exchange server. However packet filtering was enabled on the gateway, this has the effect of delaying connections to secure sites which can cause connection timeouts. Please let us know if the issue persist.
Thank you

Hey John,
Thank you for your reply. What does that mean that we have packet filtering enabled on the gateway? How do we fix that? Is it necessary? How did it get there? And do you think that would fix this issue?
Thanks.
